Where was Compulsion filmed?
Filming for the Channel 5 programme took place in Liverpool in 2021. Actress Leanne said the show's location was what excited her the most about the series.
She said: "I had known (executive producer) Collin McKeown before I ever went to drama school or worked as an actor, and we often talked about me coming home to do a really good project. We’d always have a joke that I wanted the chance to be Scouse in something – I really love that I get to do all kinds of stuff and I love the costumes of acting, be it the clothes, the voice or the period, but I really wanted to do something that was made in Liverpool, where I could play a character from Liverpool.
"Then Compulsion came along and it had all the right people attached – Noreen Kershaw is one of my favourite directors, and I genuinely love Anna Chancellor, both as an actor and as an exceptional human being. It was really touch and go whether we could make the dates work, so I was really happy when it all lined up."
Hayley Mills added: "Yes, I love going to Liverpool and I really enjoyed working with everyone on set. I’d worked there before when I did ‘Moving On’ with LA Productions and it’s always so nice to go back. It’s a beautiful city and of course there’s The Cavern and museums, but it’s the people that make the place, they’ve got such great warmth."
