Company will pay amateur photographer almost £3,000 to travel to the Maldives

A luxury company is on the hunt for an amateur photographer to travel to the Maldives. Kuoni is searching for someone with a flair for creativity to become its Official honeymoon photographer-in-residence.

And they will pay the lucky applicant a salary equivalent to £50,000 a year. The winning candidate will be flown over to the stunning paradise islands of the Maldives and will have to capture loved-up couples as they embark on their new journey together.

Director of communications at Kuoni Rachel O’Reilly said: “Every year couples spend thousands of pounds on capturing the perfect images of their wedding day, but when it comes to honeymoon photography, very few couples have beautiful pictures of themselves together to remember their honeymoon - which is truly their holiday of a lifetime.”

“A Kuoni honeymoon is unforgettable, but now we’re offering our customers the chance to share and capture their earliest days as newlyweds. Our new Honeymoon photographer-in-residence will be on-island with our customers, capturing their most special moments together which they can cherish and relive forever.”

The judging will take place on May 5, and a winner will be announced shortly after. The chosen candidate will be allowed to bring a guest to join them and be additionally paid £2,885 for three weeks of work, which equates to a salary of £50,000 per year.

How to apply

To enter, amateur photographers will need to submit their best shots and a rationale as to why they should be selected. After the search closes, the Kuoni panel of Judges will select a winner who will be sent to The Maldives to assume their new position. Before going to the islands, the winner will also receive personal training with Sandra Von Reikoff, a renowned wedding photographer responsible for capturing newly wedded celebrities and even royalty such as Princess Eugenie at her nuptials in 2018.
