The 2023 NFL draft class will report to Ashburn Friday for the Washington Commanders’ rookie minicamp.
One of Washington’s prized rookies, second-round defensive back Jartavius “Quan” Martin, will not be in attendance. According to Ben Standig of The Athletic, Martin will not participate in this weekend’s minicamp. His absence is excused as he is dealing with a personal family matter, and he’ll be back with the team next week.
The Commanders have informed us that second-round pick, DB Quan Martin, will not participate in this weekend's rookie mini-camp. Martin has an excused absence as he's dealing with a personal matter. He will rejoin the team next week.

The good news for Washington is this is nothing serious. The Commanders would rather Martin miss a rookie minicamp than the team minicamp.
Washington selected Martin at No. 47 overall and expect him to play a significant role on defense next season. While Martin can line up anywhere in the secondary, he’ll likely be covering the slot for the Commanders defense.
There is no reason for anyone to be concerned with Martin.
