The Washington Commanders returned to the field Thursday, and four players missed practice ahead of Sunday’s game against the New York Giants.
Cornerback Benjamin St-Juste [ankle] was out again Thursday, and his prognosis for Sunday doesn’t look good. If St-Juste can’t go, it would be the second straight game he’d miss after injuring his ankle in Week 11.
Right guard Trai Turner [knee/ankle] and wide receiver/punt returner Dax Milne [foot] were out again Thursday.
Also missing practice Thursday was running back Antonio Gibson [foot.] Gibson was on the injury report often last season but always suited up. Offensive coordinator Scott Turner spoke about Gibson after practice and seemed confident in his availability for Sunday.
“Well I think Antonio, we got a plan for him to get him ready,” Turner said. “I think as we go, he’ll be all right. If he wasn’t able to, it would be a group effort.”
If Gibson can’t go, that would mean more work for Jonathan Williams, who impresses every time he receives an opportunity.
Center Tyler Larsen [shoulder], defensive end Chase Young [knee] and tight end Logan Thomas [rib] were all limited.
The Giants didn’t practice Thursday, so their injury report is an estimation of what would have happened based on Wednesday’s injury report.
