Anne Marie Hochhalter, who was tragically shot and paralyzed in the Columbine High School mass shooting in 1999, passed away at the age of 43 due to natural causes. She was one of the survivors of the Littleton, Colorado, massacre, where she was left wheelchair-bound for the rest of her life as a result of her injuries.
During the attack, Hochhalter was shot in the back and chest while having lunch with friends in the school cafeteria. The shooting, carried out by twelfth-grade students Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, resulted in the deaths of twelve students and one teacher before the shooters took their own lives.
