Colts vs Giants: Drew Lock to start at QB for New York

Drew Lock will be at quarterback this week for the New York Giants when the Indianapolis Colts come to town in Week 17.

Lock did start this past Sunday against Atlanta, however, there was some uncertainty around his status this week after undergoing an MRI on his throwing shoulder on Monday. But according to the Giants’ team site, the MRI revealed “no damage.”

Since the Giants benched and eventually moved on from Daniel Jones, there has been quite a bit of instability at the quarterback position, which included a three-week stretch in November where a different quarterback started each game.

However, with Lock under center this week, that will be the fourth time in five games that he’s gotten the start. His one missed start came two weeks ago against Baltimore when he was out with a heel injury.

On the season, Lock has appeared in five games and made three starts. He’s completed 53% of his throws at just 4.8 yards per attempt with one touchdown and four interceptions.

The Giants’ offense will enter Sunday’s game against the Colts averaging just 14.3 points per game this season–the lowest mark in the NFL.
