The Indianapolis Colts are placing running back Jonathan Taylor on the injured reserve list due to the ankle injury he suffered in Week 15, effectively ending his season.
Seeing as the Colts are all but officially out of playoff contention, Taylor will miss the final three games of the regular season on the reserve list. According to Aaron Wilson, the Colts are promoting running back Jordan Wilkins from the practice squad.

This was the expected and logical move. Considering Taylor has been battling the injury for the majority of the season, there’s no reason to risk further injury just so he can play in three meaningless games to round out the season.
With his season over, Taylor played in 11 games (all starts) taking 192 carries for 861 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns while adding 28 receptions for 143 receiving yards.
This injury isn’t considered long term so the Colts are hoping he will be ready for the offseason training program.
