The Indianapolis Colts signed wide receiver Ethan Fernea to a Reserve/Future contract, the team announced Friday.
Fernea initially joined the Colts during the 2022 offseason as an undrafted rookie free agent out of UCLA. He spent the majority of the season on the practice squad but appeared in one regular-season game—Week 7 against the Tennessee Titans. In that game, he played one offensive snap and nine special teams snaps.
The future contract essentially guarantees Fernea a spot on the roster when it is expanded to 90 players. There is no limit to how many future contracts the Colts sign as long as they are under the 90-player limit.
Here are the other players the Colts signed to future contracts, most of which came immediately after the season ended.
