Colts release unofficial depth chart for Week 1

The Indianapolis Colts released the unofficial depth chart Tuesday ahead of the Week 1 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The term “unofficial” should be taken to heart here as the pecking order could change on a whim. Still, we’re here to take a look at the depth chart going into the regular-season opener against the Jaguars.

Here’s a look at the unofficial Week 1 depth chart for the Colts:

Offense

Notes

  • Rookie WR Josh Downs is listed as the starting slot receiver after winning the job over Isaiah McKenzie.
  • Recently added OT Ryan Hayes is listed the backup left tackle, and G Josh Sills is listed as the backup right guard. Both players were claimed off waivers following roster cuts.
  • RB Zack Moss is listed as the starter, but it’s likely going to be a committee, especially if he missed Week 1.

Defense

Notes

  • DE Jacob Martin, signed after roster cuts, is listed with the third stringers and likely will be working in a rotation as a LEO edge rusher.
  • Rookie Isaiah Land is listed as an edge rusher on the depth chart but was drafted as a linebacker. His presence likely will be mostly off the edge. He was claimed following roster cuts.
  • CBs Dallis Flowers and Darrell Baker Jr. will be working as the starting tandem on the outside while Kenny Moore II works out of the slot. Don’t be surprised if Moore kicks outside in two cornerback packages.

Specialists

Notes

  • P Rigoberto Sanchez is ready to go since returning from his Achilles injury.
  • Dallis Flowers is listed as the punt and kick returner. He’s likely to be the latter, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if Isaiah McKenzie and Josh Downs also mixed in on punt returns.
