The Indianapolis Colts released their second unofficial depth chart of the preseason Tuesday ahead of the matchup against the Chicago Bears at Lucas Oil Stadium.
There was one noteworthy change to the depth chart from the first chart released ahead of the preseason opener against the Buffalo Bills. The Colts officially named rookie Anthony Richardson the starting quarterback.

Depth charts released by the teams are considered unofficial, and we certainly should take them with a grain of salt. There is some truth to the depth charts, but the order of players doesn’t always correlate to the order in which they actually will play.
Here’s a look at the unofficial depth chart released by the team ahead of the second preseason game:
Offense
Notes
- QB Anthony Richardson is officially the starter.
- RB Jonathan Taylor is still listed as the starter. He remains on the PUP list.
- TE Ricky Seals-Jones replaced La’Michael Pettway, who was waived/injured.
Defense
Notes
- CB Darrell Baker Jr. continues to work with the first-team defense. It appears it’s his role to lose unless one of the rookies takes it from him.
- With DT DeForest Buckner out with a foot injury, Taven Bryan filled his spot in the preseason opener.
- CB Chris Lammons led the defense in snaps during the preseason opener and even saw work as the starting nickel defender.
- S Ronnie Harrison Jr. and Teez Tabor were signed following the preseason opener.
Specialists
Notes
- Though he’s not listed on the depth chart as a kick returner, WR Josh Downs led the team with four returns in the preseason opener. He also worked on punt returns.
- WR Isaiah McKenzie also worked as a kick returner, meaning both he and Downs are competing for the slot receiver role and a return man role.
- P Rigoberto Sanchez is fully back from his torn Achilles, averaging 56.5 yards per punt during the opener.
