Colts QB Anthony Richardson’s Wednesday practice status still TBD

The Indianapolis Colts will be back on the practice field in a few hours as they prepare for their Week 5 matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

As of Wednesday morning, Anthony Richardson’s status for today’s practice is still to be determined, according to head coach Shane Steichen.

The team will see how Richardson feels going through warmups and make the decision at that time. ESPN’s Stephen Holder reported that Richardson is feeling much better.

According to George Bremer, Steichen did say that it is possible that if Richardson doesn’t practice this week he could still play on Sunday.

Richardson exited Sunday’s game against Pittsburgh in the first half with a hip injury. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero would report that Richardson is considered “day to day” as he works through oblique and abdominal strains.

Prior to the injury, Richardson was off to a very fast start against a good Steelers defense. He completed three of his first four passes for 71 yards, including completions of 32 yards and 28 yards to Michael Pittman.

Those explosive pass plays coupled with the one-two punch that is Richardson and Jonathan Taylor in the run game, allowed the Colts to move the ball efficiently on offense and jump out to a quick 14-0 lead.

While Richardson’s status for Wednesday’s practice is still TBD at this time, Steichen did mention that Taylor would not be practicing today.
