Overall, Week 10 wasn’t very kind to the AFC South. We know what happened in the Indianapolis Colts game with Buffalo, but what about the rest of the division?
The Tennessee Titans fell on the road to the Los Angeles Chargers. In short, the combination of Justin Herbert and a seven-sack performance by the Chargers defense was too much for the Titans to handle.
With Will Levis back at quarterback for Tennessee, the Titans kept things close in the first half, trailing 13-7 at halftime, but the Chargers would create added separation in the final quarters.
Levis was efficient, completing 18-of-23 passes for 175 yards with two touchdowns. Calvin Ridley would catch both of those touchdown passes and account for 84 yards through the air. Tennessee also found some success on the ground, but struggled in the red zone.
The Jacksonville Jaguars were at home against Minnesota and without Trevor Lawrence. The Jaguars defense did a very good job of stifling the Vikings offense, holding them to 12 points, 4.9 yards per play, along with forcing three turnovers.
The Mac Jones-led offense, however, couldn’t get anything going. The Jacksonville offense mustered just seven points and averaged fewer than 4.0 yards per play with only 143 total yards.
Lastly, the Sunday night matchup featured the Detroit Lions at the Houston Texans. With Jared Goff throwing five interceptions in this game alone, the gave was sitting on a silver platter for the Texans, who had a 16 point lead at one point.
But unable to take full-advantage of the Lions’ miscues, Detroit erased that 16 point deficit in the second half and kicked a game-winning 52-yard field goal as time expired.
CJ Stroud was 19-of-32 passing for 232 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. Joe Mixon was held to just 1.8 yards per rush on 25 attempts with John Metchie leading the team in receiving with 74 yards.
Following Week 10, the Texans still have a firm lead on the division at 6-4. Indianapolis is second at 4-6, followed by the 2-7 Titans and then the 2-8 Jaguars.
Next up for the Texans is a road matchup at Dallas on Monday night football. The Colts will travel to New York to face the Jets, Tennessee is at home to take on the Vikings, and Jacksonville is at Detroit.
