Colts’ Kwity Paye in concussion protocol

Indianapolis Colts defensive end Kwity Paye is in the concussion protocol following the Week 4 loss against the Los Angeles Rams.

Though Paye didn’t leave the game at all, he developed symptoms and reported them following Sunday’s game, head coach Shane Steichen told reporters Monday.

The Colts have had to deal with a serious bout of concussions to open the early season. Quarterback Anthony Richardson missed most of Week 2 and all of Week 3 while center Ryan Kelly missed Weeks 3 and 4 due to concussions.

The Colts were also without starting left tackle Bernhard Raimann in Week 4 after he suffered a concussion during practice in the middle of the week.

Paye has gotten off to a strong start this season, collecting 3.0 sacks, four quarterback hits and four tackles for loss.

It may be difficult for Paye to clear the concussion protocol in time to return for the Week 5 matchup against the Tennessee Titans, but we’ll provide the latest updates when they come in.
