The Indianapolis Colts elevated WR D.J. Montgomery from the practice squad to the active roster for the Week 12 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the team announced Saturday.
Montgomery is the only player being elevated for Sunday’s game and will serve as the sixth wide receiver in what is a fully healthy room coming out of the bye week.
The Colts will need to lean on their passing attack against a Bucs defense that has struggled for the better part of the last two months against the air. The Bucs are allowing the second-most passing yards per game and the fourth-most passing yards per play in the NFL.
Montgomery likely will serve in a special teams role while the focal point of the passing attack will rest on the shoulders of Michael Pittman Jr. and Josh Downs.
