Colts ‘Actively Working’ With Two Teams on Potential Jonathan Taylor Trade, per Report

With Jonathan Taylor’s deadline to find a trade partner looming, talks surrounding the disgruntled Colts star reportedly appear to be gathering steam to start a pivotal week for both sides.

Just days after imposing an Aug. 29 deadline for a deal, Indianapolis entered Monday “actively working” to construct a Taylor trade with “at least two teams,” according to Josina Anderson of CBS Sports.

While the teams’s identities remain unknown, Anderson included an interesting tidbit regarding Taylor’s well-documented desire to secure an extension in her report, noting the involved clubs are “mutually willing to give Taylor a market contract” and have been “respectively making substantive offers” to the Colts.

As of Monday night, there have been no other reports to emerge indicating Indy has made progress in talks for the former All-Pro, with only the Dolphins mentioned in rumors detailing interested teams.

It’s still possible that Taylor, who is currently on the physically unable to perform list, could stay with the Colts beyond Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline for final roster cuts. If he is activated off the PUP list, he would be on the Colts’ 53-man roster. If he isn’t activated, he will be moved to the team’s reserve PUP list and would be ineligible to play through the Colts’ first four games this season.
