A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 26-year-old was fatally stabbed near a nightclub in east London.
The victim was named by Scotland Yard on Monday morning as Trei Daley, from Bromley, while Scotland Yard say they have established he was knifed near Colour Factory in Hackney Wick.
Met Police officers were called to a hospital in east London around 4.30am on Saturday, after Mr Daley and another man arrived with stab wounds.
Despite the efforts of medics, Mr Daley died in hospital.
His family has been informed, and a post-mortem is due to take place.
The second man, aged 24, was discharged from hospital later on Saturday.
Officers arrested a 35-year-old man on suspicion of murder on Monday morning. He remains in custody.
Police say Mr Daley was stabbed in a “busy” area, and have urged anyone with information about what happened to come forward.
Det Ch Insp Jim Eastwood, of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, said: “Our thoughts remain with Trei’s family. Our specialist officers will support them in any way they can following their terrible loss.
“Our enquiries are continuing at pace and my team are making good progress with this arrest, but as always we remain keen to hear from members of the public who have information that could help us.
“We have established that Trei was stabbed near to the Colour Factory nightclub in Queen’s Yard, which is just off White Post Lane in Hackney Wick.
“This area was still busy at around 4am to 4.30am on Saturday morning. Were you there? Did you witness some sort of fight or confrontation? Did you see or hear anything suspicious?
“Officers have already spoken with a number of people who were in the area, and I am grateful for their assistance. But there will be others who saw or heard something, and I need those people to come forward and speak with detectives.”
