After Russia invaded Ukraine last week, hundreds of innocent people have reportedly been killed and thousands more injured, displaced or left homeless.
Thousands more Ukrainian people, including young children, have been left with nothing: no shelter, clothing, food, school supplies or medication, and many of them have felt forced to flee the country in order to reach safety.
The United Nations' Refugee Agency has estimated that 660,000 refugees have now fled Ukraine. In a statement on social media on Tuesday, the Agency said: "~ 660,000 refugees have now fled Ukraine to neighbouring countries in the last six days.
"The situation looks set to become Europe’s largest refugee crisis this century, and we have reinforced our operations to respond as quickly and effectively as possible."

People in Ukraine and those who have fled to neighbouring countries are relying on international aid and the generosity of strangers around the world, just to get the basic necessities.
In Wales, hundreds of people have rallied together to show solidarity and support with Ukraine, while collecting much-needed items for people facing the war - but collections are ongoing, and charities say they desperately need further donations.
Here's all the places in Wales where you can donate items for Ukraine.

Blaenau Gwent
Beaufort Hill Welfare Community Hall - no longer accepting donations

Update, March 3: This donation point is now full. A volunteer wrote on social media: "Due to the overwhelming response across Gwent. Unless you have been personally told otherwise, we are not taking any more donations until further notice.
"Thanks to everyone who has shown such generosity."
This donation point previously had great demand for gloves, scarves, caps, sleeping bags, blankets, baby products and medication.
On Facebook, one volunteer said: "Beaufort Hill Miners Welfare Hall is acting as a hub for collecting and storing essential equipment that’s urgently needed by the people of Ukraine. The hall is available to leave your donations Monday to Friday, 9am to 11am, or Tuesday evening, 4pm to 6pm. The donations will then be moved on for delivery to Poland and then into Ukraine.
"No toys please as they are often bulky and use up valuable transit weight. No clothes thank you, we've been overwhelmed with clothes."
- Poland Bach - still accepting donations

Poland Bach is accepting donations for Ukraine. Organisers say they are especially keen to receive donations of baby products (including nappies, modified milk, bottles, wet wipes etc), feminine hygiene items, thermal blankets, sheets, and pillows, rain coats, and toiletries and hygiene products.
They are also particularly keen to collect instant food, (e.g. instant soup etc), dried fruit and nuts, pasta, canned meat and fish, coffee, tea and sugar.
Bridgend
- Sklep u Pauli - no longer accepting donations
8 Derwen Road, Bridgend, CF31 1LH
Update, March 3: Polish supermarket Sklep u Pauli has now stopped taking donations.
A post on Facebook on March 2, translated into English, said: "Thank you all very much for your huge hearts, help and gifts. Today we concluded Polonia for Ukraine actions. The number of gifts and your help exceeded our highest expectations.
"You guys are amazing. Thank you."
The supermarket hopes to reopen for another collection at a later date.
Another post on Facebook, translated into English, said: "Huge thank you for all your support and donations. We just finished our collection for Ukraine. The amount of donation and help exceeded our highest expectations. We might have another collection at later time, please follow our Facebook page, we will post more information on it. You are wonderful. Thank you so much."
- Wags and Walking - no longer accepting donations but needs volunteers
Bridgend area
Update, March 3: Wags and Walking dog walking business in Bridgend has been "overloaded with donations" and said the response from the community was "absolutely amazing".
Whilst the business is no longer accepting donations, it does need volunteers to help sort the donations and pack up the vans set to take the items to London. If you can help with this, message the business on Facebook.
Cardiff
- Ania Polski Sklep - still accepting donations

Ania Polski Sklep is accepting donations at its two Cardiff stores.
A statement on Facebook said: "For all those interested, we have joined the action: Help Ukraine, organised by Poland for Ukraine.
"Starting today [February 28] you can also bring packages to our stores in Cardiff: 144 Clifton Street, CF24 1LZ and 19 Albany Road CF24 1lH.
"Organizers no longer accept packages with clothing, list of products needed on the profile 'Polonia For Ukraine'. Contact number 0785 005 06 88."
- Church Inn Llanishen - no longer accepting donations
This donation point is now full and is no longer accepting donations. Organisers say they have received "phenomenal" support from the public and can't thank people enough.
- Llanederyn Boxing Gym (Apollos, Llanederyn and Pentwyn ABC) - still accepting donations
Understood to be based at Llanedeyrn High School, Roundwood, Llanedeyrn, Cardiff CF23 9US
Apollos, Llanderyn and Pentwyn amateur boxing club is accepting donations at set times.
An update on Facebook on March 3 said: "One million people have had to flee their homes as shared this morning! We need all the donations we can get.
"Drop off point Apollos, Llanederyn and Pentwyn ABC, Roundwood, Llanederyn.
"Monday to Thursday 5.30pm to 7pm."
Clothing is no longer needed, but coats, shoes, hats, gloves, torches, batteries, candles, toiletries, bedding and instant food, has all been requested.
- Park Vets - no longer accepting donations

Update, March 3: Park Vets has now confirmed it has stopped taking donations.
A post on social media at 10pm on March 2 said: "The donation drop at Park Vets is now closed and we cannot accept any further donations.
"We want to say a huge thank you to all that have made donations, sent delivery vans, organised community collections and helped pack/organise the many many boxes. A big thank you to our vet Gaby who has organised the donation point at Park Vets.
"It's been truly amazing to see our community come together to help gather supplies to support the Ukrainians who are being forced to flee their country.
"Thank you Vale Packing Supplies Cardiff for the huge donation of boxes you sent over to us!

Park Vets was accepting donations at its Cardiff site - and appealed for assistance transporting the items to a larger collection point in Newport.
Park Vets initially said it would be collecting donations until 7pm on Wednesday, March 2.
- St David Veterinary Centre - has 'paused' donations

As of March 2, St David Veterinary Centre has temporarily paused taking donations, but hopes to be able to accept donations again very soon.
A statement on Facebook said: "March 2: We have been advised to pause donations for now. The response has been incredible so far and we can’t thank you enough. The charity will notify us when we can start accepting donations again.
"Feb 28: The charity have now advised that clothing donations are no longer required. Please continue to donate other items from the list if you can.
"[Feb 27]: Urgent Appeal: We are joining our friends at Park Vets in their appeal for donations to be sent to Ukrainian refugees, currently on Polish territory..."

An update on social media said: "Help for Ukraine important update: deadline for accepting donation is March 2, 2022 12pm until further notice.

- Hengwrt - no longer accepting donations

A Collection Point for goods and donations for the people of Ukraine has been set up at Hengwrt.
It's been organised by Menter Dinefwr and the Llandeilo Community Action Hub and is accepting donations from 9.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Saturday.
Items most needed are: batteries, torches, candles, shoes, winter clothes (in good condition), nappies, personal hygiene products, painkillers, first aid items, blankets, duvets, sleeping bags, pillows, sheets and canned food.
Chair of Action Hub, Christoph Fischer added: "We've ordered collection buckets but for now we recommend that monetary donations are being made online. Our volunteers and the team at Menter Dinefwr will make sure the donations reach the network of Polish shops currently organising the delivery to Ukraine and Poland."
"Chief executive of Menter Dinefwr, Owain Gruffydd added: "The situation for the people in Ukraine and the refugees in neighbouring countries is horrendous and we’re glad to be able to offer a small help by teaming up with local volunteers.
"This is an enormous humanitarian crisis and all items and donations will be passed on to those in need."
- Our Lady, Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church [church hall] - understood to have paused donations

WalesOnline understands the church hall of Our Lady, Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church in Llanelli has paused its collection due to the "overwhelming response" to the appeal.
The collection had been organised with the Llanelli Polish Society.

St Mary's Catholic Primary School in Llanelli received so many donations over the weekend, that they are not able to accept any more donations at the moment.
Neath
- The Friends and Neighbours Centre - accepting donations until 1pm March 3

The Friends and Neighbours Centre is supporting the donation point at the NMCC Family Church and is accepting donations at set times.
On Wednesday, March 2, the Friends and Neighbours Centre will be accepting donations from 8pm to 10pm, and the centre will also be accepting donations at 11am to 1pm on Thursday, March 3.
Alternatively, there's another donation point in Neath at the NMCC Family Church (see below).

NMCC Family Church is collecting donations for the "Ukraine Appeal" at set times. The items will be transported to Ukraine via the Polish Red Cross, and measures are in-place to ensure the donations reach those people in need.
Pastor John wrote on Facebook: "A huge thank you! We are so grateful to all members of the community that brought along their donations towards the 'Ukraine Appeal' [on Monday].
"Our first night of "Doors Open" was a clear reminder of the generosity and support that our community has for our Ukraine friends.
"We still have three days to continue bringing together our donations.. items that will be a practical support to those who have lost so much. Our doors are open again at NMCC Family Church: Tuesday (2 to 8pm), Wednesday (4 to 8pm), Thursday (4-8pm). Again, thank you for your ongoing support and for such generosity and to those who worked together to sort and pack.. Thank you!"
Newport

The donation point at Rogue Fox Coffee House has now closed.
A post on social media on March 3 explained: "Thank you all so much. Please do not drop any donations off ton us. [We] Will keep you updated if we are able to take more in the future.
"No more donations please: The response to the Ukraine Appeal has been incredible and we can no longer accept anymore donations! At some point in the next few weeks we may look at starting again but for now we have to put a pause on it so that we can sort what we already have and get it out there."
It comes after a post on social media said: "If like us you've been watching the news for the last week and wishing you could help the Ukrainian families, even in a small way, you now can.
"The wonderful Kamila J Photography [local resident Kamila Jarczak] has organised donation points across Newport which will be taken directly to Poland to be distributed amongst the Ukrainian families who have sought refuge there.
"The Rogue Fox Coffee House will be a donation point this week, Monday to Friday, (8am to 4pm).
"The donations they need most at the moment are: toiletries (new, unused), baby nappies (different sizes) and wipes, sanitary products, dog and cat food, batteries, flashlights and candles, thermal clothes, hats and gloves, duvets, blankets, sleeping bags and pillows.

Swansea

Gosia hair salon in Swansea stopped accepting donations at 5pm on Wednesday, March 2. Donations are now being sorted at the site and will be transported to Newport and then on to London, before being transported to Poland for the Ukraine Appeal, the manager said.
- Sketty Park Community Centre - still accepting donations at set times

The teams at Sketty Online and Sketty Park Community Centre have arranged for a donation point at the community centre.
The site will be accepting donations on Friday, March 4 from 9am to 5pm and on Saturday, March 5 from 9am to 5pm.
Volunteers are especially keen to receive medical equipment and first aid supplies, including paracetamol, calpol, antibiotic ointments, plasters etc. The team have also set up an 'Amazon Wishlist' - to buy an item from their list for the "Sketty United for Ukraine" campaign, click here.
