Coleen Rooney sends defiant message over husband Wayne as life is opened up to cameras in Amazon documentary

Coleen Rooney sent a defiant message as her life was once again back in the headlines.

The 35-year-old opened the doors to her home for husband Wayne Rooney's new documentary.

The Amazon Prime Video programme - simply called 'Rooney' - promises to be a tell-all of the scandals the former England footballer has faced in his career on and off the pitch.

While giving a rare insight into the Derby County manager's life now, it also takes a look back at his footballing years with Manchester United as well as the infidelity scandals that have rocked his and wife Coleen's 14-year-marriage.

While the documentary is due to be released today (Friday), the premiers took place earlier this week and Wayne did an exclusive interview with Good Morning Britain on Thursday.

The 36-year-old sat down the presenter Ben Shephard for the 'honest and open' chat which saw him break his silence on his marriage struggles with Coleen and his binge drinking past.

As talk of the documentary began to dominate, Coleen took to social media to share a strong, personal message.

"I am who I am…. He is who he is …. We are what we are and that’s that!!!!" she began alongside a picture from the blue carpet at the 'Rooney' premiere.

The mum-of-four went on: "Life is for living, life goes on, life is not perfect at all and you know what…. it’s OUR life no one else’s. God bless."

Wayne and Coleen, 35, married in 2008 but have been together since Coleen was 16.

The couple are now proud parents of Kai, 12, Klay, eight, Kit, six, and Cass, who turns four next week.

In a first look at the documentary, Coleen reference the 'mistakes' her husband had admitted to making.

Stories emerged in 2004 saying Wayne, who played for Everton at the time, had visited a brothel multiple times with pals on drunken nights out.

Then, after he married Coleen, further stories emerged in 2010 about a threesome with escorts Jenny Thompson and Helen Wood which happened the previous year.

"I knew that groups that Wayne was hanging round with weren't good for him, lovely people but together with alcohol not good," she said.

“It's not a good thing for Wayne to be unsupervised.

"I've moved on, you've moved on."

As someone behind the camera asked her a question, she replied: "No - not the behaviour - no, it's not acceptable.

"Forgiveness is different, I'd say it's different. I forgive him. But it wasn't acceptable. If it comes up we'll talk about it, like we're talking about it now. I haven't got the anger that I got at the time."

Coleen also says the childhood sweethearts are now trying to draw a line under the incidents.
