The summer holidays are officially over for many children across the UK, with parents getting emotional as they send their kids back to school.
Stars including Coleen Rooney, Maria Fowler and Christine McGuinness have flocked to Instagram to share back to school snaps of their kids as they leave the house and return to the classroom for the first time in six weeks.
Mother-of-four Coleen, 36, posted a picture of her and Wayne Rooney 's eldest son Kai, as she shared her pride over him starting Year 8. The 12-year-old smiled as he posed in front of their family home while wearing his school blazer and tie.
TOWIE star Maria, 36, shared a lengthy tribute to her daughters Evie and Nellie as she marked the end of the summer holidays.
She said the family had "the best summer" and made some lovely memories together.
Maria wrote: "We’ve made some amazing memories but I’m so ready for them to be back to school & nursery!
"I think it’s so important to be open if you’re finding motherhood overwhelming, it doesn’t matter if you are working full time or are a full time mum.
"It’s ok to clock watch till bedtime. It’s ok to count down till the return to school. It doesn’t make you any less of an amazing mum- it makes you human."
She said Evie was now moving into Year 1 and added that Nellie was going to nursery three days a week, which Maria admitted was much better for her.
Rochelle Humes had a busy morning as she navigated the school run with her husband Marvin Humes and their three children — Alaia-Mai, nine, Valentina, five and Blake, one.
The Saturdays singer, 33, posted a sweet snap of her two eldest children as she wished them luck on their first day of school.
She documented the school run on her Instagram Story as she admitted to not knowing what to do with herself now the holidays were over.
Television personality Christine posted a lovely message to her children as she sent them off to school, following her recent split from Paddy McGuinness.
The 34-year-old posted a picture of her three children —Penelope, nine, Leo, nine, and Felicity, six — as they faced away from the camera in their school uniform.
She captioned the post: " I hope you genuinely smile and laugh, with or without a reason. I hope you keep learning and keep growing as the wonderful children you are.
"I hope you have the confidence to be you and ask for quiet time or support if you need it. I hope you love yourself for all that you are and all that you are becoming."
Christine also said her stomach was "in knots" but was looking forward to the opportunities a new school year brings.
EastEnders star Jacqueline Jossa also posted a pic of her daughter Ella as she heads into Year 3. The seven-year-old wore a pink summer dress and had her hair in two plaits.
Jacqueline, 29, wrote: "You got this girl," alongside the snap.
After hosting a back to school sleepover for her kids, former Liberty X member Michelle Heaton gushed over Faith, 10, and Aaron, eight, on Instagram as they headed into Year 6 and year 4.
She wrote: "So proud of my kids, so happy they are turning into little adults head strong and assure of themselves. And now mummy can start the clean-up of the wreckage at home from the last 6 weeks."
