Coleen Rooney fires back at Wayne's critics ahead of documentary - 'He is who he is'

Coleen Rooney defiantly hit out at critics of her husband Wayne ahead of the release of his new documentary, telling them: "He is who he is".

Amazon Prime Video documentary Rooney - landing tomorrow - sees the couple open up about Wayne's mistakes and the many heavily publicised scandals he's found himself at the centre of over the years.

From admitting to sleeping with prostitutes to drink-driving, Wayne's controversies have made as many headlines as his high-flying football career.

Now that it's all about to be laid bare in the film, Coleen is ready to stick up for him.

Taking to Twitter today, she hit out: "I am who I am…. He is who he is …. We are what we are and that’s that!!!!

"Life is for living, life goes on, life is not perfect at all and you know what…. it’s OUR life no one else’s. God bless."

When asked why she was broadcasting her life to millions of people, Coleen fired back: "Because I want to… it’s my life. Enjoy yours xx"

In the documentary, Coleen opens up about her decision to forgive Wayne for his infidelity.

Asked if she'd accepted Wayne's past behaviour, she said: "No not the behaviour no, it’s not acceptable.

"Forgiveness is different, I’d say is different.

"I wouldn’t, it’s not acceptable that what he’s done but it’s happened and that was the stage of life we were in at the time but we’ve moved on."

She added: "I forgive him but it wasn’t acceptable.

"But it’s not something that, if it come up we’d talk about it like we’re talking about it now I haven’t got the anger that I did at the time."

Coleen has faced much criticism in the past for taking Wayne back.

Addressing claims that she forgave him for the sake of their sons - Kai, 12, Klay, eight, Kit, five, and Cass, three - she said: "I know people say, 'Oh were they just staying together to keep the family unit together?'

"That was part of it but also we still love each other."
