Cold War thriller Whispers of Freedom has announced its principal cast, with Cameron Ashplant and Darragh Cowley taking on lead roles. The film, set in 1980s East Germany, follows the characters as they attempt to escape the isolated Eastern bloc state. The movie is written and directed by Brandon Ashplant and features Wendy Makkena, Paul Freeman, and Wolf Kahler in supporting roles. Production for Whispers of Freedom is scheduled to begin next month, with Jonathan Tammuz and Golden Goat Films serving as producers.

In other news, BBC Storyville has acquired the documentary 'We Will Dance Again,' which focuses on the Hamas massacre at the Supernova Music Festival. Directed by Yariv Mozer, the film includes survivor testimonies and previously unseen footage of the terror attack. The documentary will air in Israel on Channel 8 and is produced by Sipu, Bitchon 365, MGM Television, and HSCC. The logline describes it as a poignant narrative of loss, tragedy, bravery, sacrifice, and heroism.

Additionally, Isabel Begg has been appointed as the new chair of Women in Film & TV (U.K.), succeeding Liz Tucker. Begg, who previously served as vice chair, expressed her enthusiasm for the organization's mission of promoting awareness and inclusivity in the U.K. Mel Rodrigues will take on the role of vice chair, continuing the organization's commitment to supporting women in the industry.
