COIMBATORE: A 55-year-old man stabbed his 53-year-old brother to death in Sirumugai on Saturday night. The deceased was identified as V Pandi of Thiruvalluvar Nagar, a tailor.
He was taking care of his mother Vijaya, 70. His elder brother V Santhanam, a truck driver, was staying with his family in Chennai. Santhanam visited his mother on Thursday. Around 6pm, while having a few drinks, a dispute arose between the brothers over taking care of their mother. In a fit of rage, Santhanam grabbed a pair of tailor’s scissors and stabbed Pandi.
Neighbours rushed Pandi to a private hospital in Sirumugai, where first aid was given and he was referred to the Mettupalayam Government Hospital. But he died while on the way to the hospital around 7.35pm. The Sirumugai police have arrested Santhanam.
