Coffee Prices Surge on Global Supply Risks

Ice Robusta United States Arabica Brazil Vietnam FAs StoneX the Strait of Hormuz

May arabica coffee (KCK26) today is up +12.50 (+4.33%), and May ICE robusta coffee (RMK26) is up +100 (+2.89%).

Coffee prices are sharply higher today, with robusta posting a 3.5-week high.   Concerns that a prolonged US-Iran war will keep the Strait of Hormuz closed and disrupt global coffee supplies are pushing prices sharply higher today.  The closure of the strait has tightened coffee supplies by increasing global shipping rates, insurance, and fuel costs, and raising costs for coffee importers and roasters.
