Cody Gakpo starts for Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp makes four changes in strong team for FA Cup

Cody Gapko will make his Liverpool debut in the FA Cup third round clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield this evening.

Gakpo, signed for an initial £37million from PSV Eindhoven, is part of a strong team named by Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.

The 23-year-old will line up on the left side of the attack, with Darwin Nunez leading the line and Mohamed Salah on the right.

There are four changes from the team beaten dismally at Brentford in the Premier League on Monday, with Andy Robertson returning at left-back and Joel Matip coming in for the injured Virgil van Dijk at centre-back. Ibrahima Konate and Trent Alexander-Arnold complete the defence with Alisson Becker in goal.

Skipper Jordan Henderson has recovered from concussion and lines up in midfield alongside Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara.

Ben Doak is the only youngster on a strong substitutes’ bench that includes Naby Keita, who had missed training earlier in the week.

LIVERPOOL (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Konate, Robertson; Fabinho, Henderson, Thiago; Salah, Nunez, Gakpo.

Subs: Kelleher, Gomez, Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Elliott, Tsimikas, Carvalho, Phillips, Doak.
