Cocoa Prices Surge as Demand Concerns Recede

March ICE NY cocoa (CCH25) Friday closed up +671 (+6.39%), and March ICE London cocoa #7 (CAH25) closed up +426 (+4.99%).

Cocoa prices surged Friday after North American Q4 cocoa grindings fell less than European and Asian Q4 grindings, allaying concerns about a slowdown in demand despite high prices.  The National Confectioners Association reported that Q4 North American cocoa bean grindings fell -1.2% y/y to 102,761 MT.
