March ICE NY cocoa (CCH25) Tuesday closed up +23 (+0.21%), and March ICE London cocoa #7 (CAH25) closed up +10 (+0.11%).
Cocoa prices Tuesday finished a volatile session slightly higher. Cocoa found support Tuesday after chocolate maker Lindt & Spuengli AG reported that its 2024 organic sales rose +7.80%, stronger than expectations of +7.41%, signaling consumer chocolate demand remains robust despite higher prices. Also, shrinking global cocoa stockpiles are bullish for prices. ICE-monitored cocoa inventories held in US ports have been trending lower for the past 1-1/2 years and fell to a 20-year low Tuesday of 1,300,731 bags.
