An early upset occurred at the tennis tournament on Court Philippe-Chatrier as US tennis star Coco Gauff was defeated by Croatia's Donna Vekic with a score of 7-6(7) 6-2.
Gauff seemed to be in control during the first set, holding a 5-2 lead and even having a set point. However, the match took a turn as Vekic mounted a comeback, ultimately winning the first set in a tiebreak and then dominating the second set despite Gauff initially breaking her serve.
