Cocktail bar Tonight Josephine is opening its largest site so far in Bristol. The self-confessed ‘sassy late-night cocktail bar’ chain is owed by Nightcap, which is also behind other bar groups including The Cocktail Club and the Adventure Bar Group.
The company has signed a lease on 28 Baldwin Street and it’s the latest Bristol site for the group, which has also opened The Cocktail Club and Blame Gloria in recent months. The venue is the largest Tonight Josephine site to date with a capacity of 450 split across a ground floor and basement with an additional outside terraced area.
The site measures approximately a massive 7,824 square feet in total. Its licensed hours will be until 2am Sunday to Thursday and 3am Friday and Saturday.

Tonight Josephine Bristol will be the third confirmed new opening for the brand this year, following its successful opening in Cardiff and recent lease signing in Liverpool. It will be the fourth Tonight Josephine venue outside of London and the seventh in total. It takes the total number of Adventure Bar Group sites to 13 in total.
Nightcap now has 34 sites within its estate and a further 22 premises under offer or in legal negotiations for all of its brands and continues to see favourable market conditions for site acquisitions across the UK. Sarah Willingham, Chief Executive Officer of Nightcap, said: “Bristol is a city we are getting to know really well and is a place where we continue to perform consistently well. Tonight Josephine is the third brand from within the Group to open in Bristol, across four different sites.
“It is the first location outside of London where we are proving how well our different bar concepts can work alongside each other without cannibalising revenues. This is a testament to the strong identity within each brand that the teams work tirelessly to perfect and preserve.”
Popular for hen parties and birthday celebrations, Tonight Josephine is well known for its happy hours. The venues can also be hired out for large groups.
The new Bristol venue will open later this year although there is no date at the moment and the site is still under construction.
