MORE than £1.6 million worth of drugs have been seized by the police in a small village in North Lanarkshire.
Police Scotland said officers executed a warrant to search a house on Gartmill Crescent in Moddiesburn on Tuesday, where cocaine with an estimated value of £1,680,000 was found.
A man was due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Wednesday after being arrested and charged.
Detective Sergeant Lee Graham said: “This recovery highlights our commitment to tackling dangerous and illegal drugs in our local communities.
“Drugs cause misery in our communities and we are determined to protect the public by preventing their distribution.

The force said in a statement: "A 34-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a drugs recovery in Moodiesburn.
"On Tuesday, 21 July, 2026, officers executed a warrant on Gartmill Crescent. Cocaine with an estimated street value of £1,680,000 was recovered.
"The man was due to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 22 July, 2026."
