As the trade deadline approaches, the Chicago Bulls need to remain focused on the season at hand. Though they have some big choices to make in terms of who to trade and who to keep around, they are still in the race for the Play-In Tournament, and the front office has repeatedly stressed the importance of competing.
On Tuesday night, the Bulls welcomed the Minnesota Timberwolves – one of the top teams in the Western Conference – to United Center. Minnesota was up by as many as 23 points, but a strong second half from the Bulls brought them all the way back, and they ended up winning in overtime.
After the game, Coby White, who was the primary reason for Chicago’s miraculous comeback, broke down the win. While he was happy they pulled off a victory, he also admitted that it wasn’t a very fun game.
“We started to make shots and the crowd starts to get into it, get behind and we changed the momentum of the game,” White said via ESPN. “But it’s not a fun way to live: digging yourselves in a hole. We’ve got to figure out a way to at least not make the first half and the second half look so drastically different.”
White ended the game with 33 points, five rebounds, seven assists, and one steal while shooting 11-of-21 from the field and 7-of-13 from behind the three-point line.
Of White’s 33 points, 30 came in the second half as he managed to pull the Bulls all the way back from a huge halftime decifit.
