Coach John Kavanagh and Bellator fighters to fill MMA cage with toys for charity

Conor McGregor's coach John Kavanagh and a host of Bellator MMA fighters are inviting fans to help fill their MMA cage with toys for St Vincent De Paul.

The MMA stars are going to be at SBG Ireland HQ in Inchicore on Saturday afternoon from 1pm to 4pm, and want fans to join them for a massive charity toy drive. Former world title contenders Peter Queally and Sinead Kavanagh will be joined by top featherweight Leah McCourt as well as fellow fighters Brian Moore and Darragh Kelly meeting fans and running the toy drive.

There will be a series of photo opportunities for fans coming to the show, and joining the fighters to meet fans will be ring girl Pamela Ryan. Fans are encouraged to bring along new toys, which will be donated to SVP, which is one of largest charitable organisations in the country.

"Hey everyone, Bellator are doing a big toy drive for children in need, they're donating tonnes of toys for children in need around Ireland," Queally said in an Instagram video. "We're going to have an event in SBG HQ on Saturday between 1 and 4. There'll be loads of us there, you can come in there'll be food, music, we'll have a laugh.

"If you want to help and bring a toy that would be great, bring that along with you. That will go towards the whole event and will go to a child in need, which is a great cause. I'll see you on Saturday, I'm looking forward to it!"

Live music will be playing thanks to FM104, who will be broadcasting live from the event, and fans who can't make it during the afternoon are asked to drop to any SVP location around the country. The fighters will also be promoting the massive upcoming Bellator 291 card at the 3Arena on Saturday, February 25.

That event will feature a world title fight between the returning Ukrainian world champion Yaroslav Amosov and the interim champion Logan Storley. Queally will also return against Bryce Logan, while Kavanagh will face Janay Harding in a rematch that could land her atop the title contention at featherweight once again.
