The co-owner of an exciting new dining concept in Edinburgh has just been named one of the best sommeliers in the country by an influential magazine.
Glen Montgomery, who is one of the duo behind Stockbridge's eòrna was named in Harper’s Top 25 Sommeliers for 2023, with the prestigious list from the country’s leading wine trade magazine recognising the best sommeliers in the UK and Ireland.
Glen placed 20th and was handpicked from 100 sommeliers.
Having honed his skills at some of Scotland’s finest restaurants, such as Number One at The Balmoral and Restaurant Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles Hotel, the wine expert has now been wowing diners at his new restaurant with top chef Brian Grigor.

Since the opening of eòrna in May 2023, Glen has curated the restaurant’s wine list which features a diverse selection of wines from around the world and has built a strong reputation, not only for his exceptional wine knowledge but also his impeccable service.
Upon hearing the news of the win, Glen said: "I am absolutely thrilled to have made it to the top 25 Sommeliers list, it truly is an honour to be recognised alongside some of the best in the industry.
"I couldn’t have done it without my good friend and co-owner Brian Grigor. I love being able to share my knowledge with our amazing customers and being able to help them to discover new wines."
