Co-operative Bank shows 'commitment' to Nottingham by opening new-look branch in city centre

The Co-operative Bank has opened a new-look branch in the centre of Nottingham. It comes at a time when many high street banks are closing and moving their services online.

The company has opened the branch on Clumber Street in the former Santander building, after moving from Exchange Walk. Co-operative bosses said they will continue to provide the same services to their customers as well as creating a space to share with the local community.

Branch manager Jodie Morris said: "The Co-operative Bank has been celebrating its 150 year anniversary throughout 2022. Having a new-look branch at a more central location in Nottingham has been something extra to celebrate for our team as we welcome our customers.

"This investment in our new location, and in my amazing team, demonstrates our commitment to providing not only banking services but also playing a part in the Nottingham community. Our new branch has more available space, and we are aiming to work with local organisations to best use the additional room we have, and support groups who could make use of it for meetings and events.

"There is a lot more to come from the team in the Nottingham branch. We're looking forward to showcasing it to the local community over the coming weeks and months."

Darrell Evans, managing director of retail banking at the Co-operative Bank, said: "We are delighted to have completed the move to our new location in the centre of Nottingham and we can’t wait to welcome our customers into our freshly-renovated space that provides so much more opportunity for us to attract new customers and work with the wider Nottingham community. I, and the fantastic team at Nottingham branch, would openly invite surrounding groups and good causes to visit us in our new home and explore ways in which we can support them, as we want to build our relationships with other local organisations.

"The investment in this new branch is a clear commitment to providing the community with access to cash and to maintaining our presence in Nottingham.” The new Co-operative Bank branch is at 2 Clumber Street and is open Monday to Saturday from 9am.
