Shrigley’s iconic bell, which once summoned workers to the mill in the Co Down village, has been handed back to the community for display
While the hunt continues for funding to restore its rightful home, the Shrigley Clock Tower, the bell has been loaned permanently to the Sir Hans Sloane Centre in Killyleagh.
Niall Fitzpatrick, the Housing Executive’s South Down assistant area manager, said over the years the team has explored options and funding with other organisations to secure the restoration and long term sustainability of the clock tower.
