Clydebank police hunt grown man behind random daylight street attack on 13-year-old boy

A 13-year-old schoolboy was attacked by grown man in broad daylight on a Clydebank street.

The lad was set upon yesterday at 2pm on the town's Great Western Road, near to the World of Golf.

Police investigating the worrying incident say the boy was treated in hospital for an injury to his face after two people in a car stopped to help him. Now they hope to trace the good Samaritans as they could hold information vital to helping catch the culprit.

Constable Adam Cairns said: “This boy was walking along the street when a man has assaulted him for no apparent reason.

"It’s important we establish exactly what has happened and why. I would ask anyone in the area who may have witnessed the incident to contact us.

"I would also request anyone with recording devices, such as dash cams, to check the footage as it could hold images which could provide us with additional information.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1824 of 28 January, 2023. Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where you can give your information anonymously.
