Clydebank campaigners celebrate victory after plans for new plastic incinerator thrown out

Plans to open a new incinerator to burn waste plastic in Clydebank have been thrown out in a move welcomed by environmental campaigners.

West Dunbartonshire Council had initially approved plans for the plant at Rothesay Dock with the decision then referred to the Scottish Government, in line with a new national moratorium policy.

Developer Peel L&P withdrew its application Thursday, ending plans for an incinerator on the site.
