Danny Lennon admits Clyde are at their lowest ebb after they made it NINE straight defeats in League One after a 2-1 loss at home to Queen of the South on Saturday.
Goals from Ruari Paton and Connor Murray either side of a strike from Ross Cunningham kept Clyde ninth in the table and on a miserable run, the likes of which Lennon has never seen before.
Gutted gaffer Lennon said: “Again we shoot ourselves in the foot and when that first goal went in, it took a bit of the stuffing out of and we stopped doing the good things that we were doing.
“We regrouped at half-time and I thought we played very well in the second half. We got ourselves back into the game through Ross, but, just the way things have been going, if it wasn’t for bad luck, we’d have no luck at all.
“For the effort the boys put in, I really felt for the boys.
“As much as we are on a poor run, they didn’t deserve that and neither did the fans.
“I take full responsibility as Clyde manager.
"In the five years that I’ve been here - and not just in my time at the club - this is certainly the lowest that it's been, this run we are on.
“But we all love challenges. I know it is unacceptable losing that amount of games on the trot, but when you see some of the games and the moments these players can produce, it puzzles me in terms of where we find ourselves.
“I think a big part of it comes from a big lack of confidence and that’s where we need the strong characters in there to stand up and be counted."
Clyde - who last picked up league points in August with a 3-0 win over Kelty - now travel to Alloa on Saturday looking to avoid the ignominy of racking up a 10th straight defeat.
