Merseyside's non-league clubs have paid tribute to a 20-year-old footballer who was killed in a fatal collision last night.
Sam Harding, who played for Northern Premier League sides Prescot Cables and Runcorn Linnets, was hit by an Audi S3 on Sunday 10th April.
Sam died shortly after being taken to Warrington District General hospital.

The two sides took to social media and said they were "deeply saddened" to hear of Sam's death. The midfielder also played for FC United of Manchester, Ashton Athletic, Longridge Town and Glossop North End's junior setup.
In a statement, Prescot Cables said: "The club are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Sam Harding, who was killed in a car accident last night. Sam made a number of appearances for Prescot Cables during the 2019-2020 season. Our thoughts are with his friends, former teammates and family at this time. RIP Sam."
Runcorn Linnets said: "We are deeply saddened to hear the tragic news that Sam Harding unfortunately lost his life in a car accident yesterday. Sam made a handful of appearances for the club at the start of the season. We would like to offer our condolences to Sam’s family and friends."
Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward and video footage of the collision on Kingsland Grange. Both Sam and the driver were believed to be there at a 'car meet', according to police.
The driver, 21, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
In a tribute, Sam's family said: “Our beautiful son was tragically taken away from us on Sunday 10 April 2022. A much loved son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend to many. We will never ever forget you Sam and will love you forever. Rest in peace sweet angel, love Mum, Dad and Amy xx.”
