Here is your Tottenham Hotspur morning digest on Wednesday, February 2.
Overmars gives Bergwijn explanation
Ajax director of football Marc Overmars has suggested that a January move for Spurs winger Steven Bergwijn was not realistic.
The Dutch giants were linked with a move for the wideman throughout the window but a switch failed to come to fruition, with Overmars now giving an explanation why.
Talking to the club’s official outlet, he said: “It is no secret that we have been busy getting Bergwijn to Ajax, for now, and for the future.
“But you also have to be realistic. Every club has had two tough years. In these uncertain times, we as the board thought it was not good to deploy the entire financial package.”
