Housing developer Persimmon Homes has acquired a site for a new residential project.
Derbyshire firm Clowes Developments has sold the land in Coventry which has consent for 223 units ranging from two to four bedrooms.
There will also be 25 per cent affordable housing provision at the scheme in Burnaby Road.
The planning consent includes £1.94 million towards educational services which will benefit up to six schools, £264,000 for improvements to local parks and an additional £49,000 to provide a local cycle station.
Paul Shanley, consultant at Clowes Developments, said: "We are excited to see how the development will progress and we wish Persimmon Homes all the best in bringing the site back to life with their comprehensive residential offering."
Neil Williams, managing director at Persimmon Homes Central, added: "This is a hugely exciting development which will provide 223 quality homes, helping address the need for local housing in Coventry while at the same time making important contributions to local services.
"This is a continuation and additional phase of our current and successful Whitmore Place development.
"Demolition is due to start this August and be completed by late summer with the development commencing soon after and early occupation planned for later in 2023."
