Cloudflare layoffs: After firing 20% staff, CEO Matthew Prince explains in op-ed on "how to decide which employees AI should replace"

Cloudflare, a US-based tech company, has laid off more than 1,100 employees globally, accounting for nearly 20% of its workforce. The layoff announcement was made by Cloudflare just hours after it reported first-quarter earnings that bear Wall Street expectations.

Just days after the layoffs, Cloudflare CEO Matthew Prince wrote an op-ed in Wall Street Journal (WSJ) titled 'How I Choose Which Cloudflare Employees to Replace With AI' where he shared his logic behind the job cuts.
