Clever £1 trick lets you remove logos from underside of shoes in seconds

If you've ever bought a pair of sandals or flip-flops, you might have noticed that they sometimes come with a logo of the shoe's brand on the sole, where you would put your foot.

While this logo is hidden when you're wearing the shoes, they can show up and be unsightly when you've taken your shoes off - especially if you're using them for a special occasion in which you don't want the shoe's brand on full display.

But one woman has come up with the perfect solution to get rid of the printed logos - and all you need to make it work is a beauty product that costs just £1.

A woman named Krit shared a video online after buying several pairs of multi-coloured flip-flops from Primark, which she intends to give out to guests at her upcoming wedding so they can show off their dance moves without worrying about their feet hurting in heels.

But she didn't want to have the Primark logo visible on the base of the shoes when her guests picked them up, so she used nail varnish remover to gently scrub the printed logo off of each shoe.

Krit then posted a video of her updated logo-less flip-flops on her @lifeofkrit TikTok account, where she included a comment from a woman named Emma who had told her to try the £1 hack.

She captioned the video: "So chuffed with these!! Although it takes the colours off completely so be mindful of that."

In Krit's post, the logo had been completely wiped away from the shoes, but it was also clear that there was a small white patch where the logo used to be, as the nail varnish had stripped away the coloured dye too.

The nail varnish remover also removed the writing that denoted what size the shoes were, but Krit insisted her guests could "eyeball" it or just try a pair on before committing to a size.

You can pick up nail varnish remover for as little as £1 from Boots or 99p from Superdrug, while supermarkets will also sell the product, with Asda charging £1.90 for their cheapest product, and Tesco's cheapest coming in at £1.75.

Speaking about her flip-flop plan, Krit said: ''[I] can't wait to see the ladies get out of their heels and into flip flops to cut some shapes. I originally planned to get all white but then I saw these and it was so Taylor Lover-coded!

''Probably a little early preparing these but Primark is seasonal and it's likely that the flip flops won't be there in a month's time so thought I'd make a start on them now and tick another thing off the list."

Since sharing the post on social media, commenters have fallen in love with the hack - while others have given Krit viable workarounds for the missing sizes.

One person said: "Yay so glad it worked lovely!! I never thought about it taking the colour off but that's deffo something to remember!"

While another wrote: "You wouldn't even notice the colour is gone!"

And a third posted: ''You could put a little tag label on with the sizes.''
