The Boston Celtics had bad luck in their last two meetings with the new-look Cleveland Cavaliers and Donovan Mitchell, (44 points, 5 assists) but this time around, the team got the better of the Cavs after a cold-shooting start, switching up their typically 3-point-heavy offense until the team found its stroke late in the first half to come away with a 117-113 victory.
The Celtics blew it open in the second half, building a 21-point lead they needed most of to fend off a late Cavs comeback. Big games from Jayson Tatum (41 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists), Al Horford (23 points, 11 boards), Jaylen Brown (16 points), and Marcus Smart (14 points) made the win possible for Boston.
Let’s take a look at some of the best plays captured in images from the Celtics’ game No. 63 of their 2022-23 campaign.
