More than 500 individuals were rescued from a Clearwater apartment complex located in a non-evacuation zone overnight. The city's mayor, Bruce Rector, highlighted that the area was economically vulnerable and unprepared for the flooding that occurred.
Mayor Rector expressed concerns that the apartment complex is now likely uninhabitable due to the extent of the flooding. The displaced residents, many of whom lack the financial resources to secure alternative housing, have been relocated to temporary shelters provided by the city.
