Clayton Kershaw is, as you know, an incredible pitcher, an all-time great of a lefty who throws curveballs that blow minds.
The future Hall of Famer was on the hill Wedneday night in the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 5-3 loss to the San Diego Padres in their NLDS playoff series. And while facing Jurickson Profar, he threw a 75 MPH pitch that dived … many feet in front of the plate.
Profar swung at it, looking foolish. But when you’re facing Kershaw and maybe you think a fastball is coming or something, maybe you swing.
Check out the pitch and the reaction to it:
Look at this thing!
Clayton Kershaw hasn't been particularly sharp tonight but made Jurickson Profar look foolish with this strikeout on a curveball that bounced a few feet in front of home plate. pic.twitter.com/4e0rYIhxB0

This is especially funny if you remember what Kershaw once told Profar about his swing.pic.twitter.com/VrJWRdJfO9

Here's a good insight from Brewers star Christian Yelich
Spiked Curveballs actually look a lot like Fastballs cause of how low they come out especially if you’re looking for the inside FB which Kershaw does a lot. Eventually you look in to beat him to the spot and man does it suck when it turns out it’s a CB. We’ve all been there 🤣 https://t.co/UiN9uTpaOF
