The classic TV show, You’ve Been Framed is said to have been axed after more than 30 years on UK screens in what’s being seen as "a sign of the times".
It’s reportedly curtains for the ITV programme, which first premiered in 1990, which has entertained millions of Brits for over three decades.
The series, hosted by comedian Harry Hill, has members of the public send in candid home videos that primarily focus on people having comical slips and falls.
However, the show is said to have significantly dropped in ratings since its prime in the 90s and early 2000’s when an average of 15 million would tune in.
A source told The Sun: "It’s a different world to Jeremy Beadle’s heyday.
“Why would viewers tune in to a show featuring funny videos when they could see the same sort of thing on the internet?
"Silly clips are hugely popular on social media and the right video can go viral.
"There’s a thrill in achieving that – even though you don’t earn the £250 fee which You’ve Been Framed paid for contributions.”
When You’ve Been Framed first launched it was hosted by Beadle, who held the role for seven years.
The position was taken over by Lisa Riley from 1998 to 2002, while Jonathan Wilkes presented the programme for one year.
Hill has taken over since 2004 and of the 701 episodes has voiced almost half of them. The last episode aired in August last year and was fronted by Hill .
In 2019, he spoke out about his long tenure on the series.
"I’ve been doing that show for 15 years now. Do you think that’s enough? Maybe I should call it a day,’ he said, according to The Daily Star.
The show was originally based on the Japanese hit series, Fun TV with Kato-chan and Ken-chan.
