Class X student set ablaze by four in Andhra Pradesh's Bapatla district; dies

VIJAYAWADA: A class X student was set ablaze allegedly by four boys in Bapatla district on Friday early morning. While the bereaved family made allegations against three youngsters from another village, police are yet to confirm the facts of the case.

Vakul Jindal, SP, Bapatla told TOI that Uppala Amarnath (15) is a native of Uppalavaripalam of Cherukupalli mandal studying class X in a local government school. He goes to Rajavolu village of Cherukupalli Mandal for tuition everyday morning. On Friday at around 5.30AM, Amarnath was found burnt. Listening to his hue and cry, locals extinguished the fire and rushed him to Guntur government general hospital. The boy died while receiving treatment. An autopsy was conducted on Friday evening.
