A doorstep clap in tribute to Queen Elizabeth II has been organised, with thousands saying they will join the mass round of applause in her honour.
Britain's longest-serving monarch died aged 96 on Thursday and preparations are now being made for her state funeral, which is due to take place on September 19. People from across the world have been paying tribute to the well-loved Queen, who celebrated her Platinum Jubilee this year.
Now, a Facebook event - Clap for our Queen Elizabeth II at your front door or wherever you may be - has been set up. The clap is planned for 7pm on Monday, September 12.

More than 42,000 people said they were 'going' and over 113,000 were 'interested' in taking part in the tribute. A message on the Facebook page read: "Let's let everybody know we loved our Queen. And clap those hands at your front door, back door, wherever you may be. Thank you."
The Queen's funeral will take place at London's Westminster Abbey at 11am on Monday, September 19. It will be a bank holiday.
The idea of clapping for the Queen will bring back memories of the early days of the Covid pandemic, when people took part in the weekly Clap for Our Carers as a way of showing appreciation to key workers, reports Wales Online.
