Clan continued their impressive home streak as they made it three wins out of three at the Braehead Arena by toppling Cardiff Devils 6-3.
Following on from an overtime winner against Fife Flyers just 24 hours before, goals from Mitch Jones, Mathieu Roy, Braylon Shmyr, Colton Yellow Horn, Tim Shoup, and Nolan LaPorte ensured yet another win against one of the top three.
It was to be the perfect start for Malcolm Cameron’s men as they claimed the first goal of the afternoon just over a minute in. Finding the puck in the left circle, Jones finished with expertise into the bottom right corner.
The entertainment continued as the gloves were off ten minutes later. McNally and Sol both deciding to go at it as the latter came out on top, sending both players to the box for five minutes.
Just a minute later the Devils were level as Matt Register equalised on the 4-on-4, finishing over the shoulder of a helpless Shane Starrett.
However, they would not be level for long as the Clan were back in front less than a minute later. Lurking in front of the Devils crease, Mathieu Roy was there to deflect Colton Yellow Horns blue line effort home.
It would be three goals in three minutes as the Clan scored yet another, just 44 seconds later. Braylon Shmyr this time picking up on a rebound to round Taran Kozun in the crease.
With five minutes remaining in the first it was 4-1. An incredible effort from Yellow Horn saw him drive on the break before firing an effort high and glove side, forcing the Devils into an early Goalie change.
After an impressive first period the Clans offensive dominance was brought to a halt as the lead was reduced to just two. Mark Richardson this time slapping an effort through traffic, catching out an unsighted Starrett.
Soon after, Shmyr was denied his second of the afternoon. The referee judged the goals to have come off the post before his effort hit the cage.
Facing a Devils side desperate for another goal, the Clan took full advantage at the start of the third. Picking up the puck on the left, Colton Yellow Horn drove across the face of goal for Tim Shoup to dispatch high into the top shelf.
With ten minutes remaining, the Devils were back to within two. Collecting the loose puck, Stephen Dixon made no mistake, rattling into the top corner on the delayed penalty.
However, this would be a mere consolation as an impressive afternoon was capped off with a sixth goal in the final minute.
LaPorte with the goal into a yawning cage from centre ice to confirm the win.
