The Santa Clarita Valley lies north of Los Angeles. One of the properties there is the Dog Psychology Center, the working base of Cesar Millan, a dog behavior specialist who hosted Dog Whisperer on the National Geographic Channel and later fronted other television series. The center has served as a location in his shows. Millan’s own website also describes owner-training programs held at the site, which are separate from the rehabilitation work done with dogs. The rehabilitation of dogs that owners and shelters have trouble placing and that might otherwise be euthanized is, according to Millan, the purpose of the center. The center grew out of an earlier facility in Los Angeles, which was relocated north to Santa Clarita. The foundation’s own pages and a small number of secondary sources are the main record of that history.
